From your dashboard or the Models tab, tap the "+" button to add a new model. Enter the name, select a game system and faction, and choose the current status (backlog, built, primed, etc.). You can also add a description and optional tags.
Models progress through stages: Backlog (still in box/on sprue), Built (assembled, not primed), Primed (base coat applied), In Progress (actively painting), Completed (fully painted), and Shelved (paused indefinitely). Update the status as you work through your pile of shame!
Open any model and start a painting session. The timer will track how long you paint. When you're done, stop the session and optionally add notes about what you worked on. You can also manually add past sessions if you forget to use the timer.
Yes! Your dashboard shows your total painting hours across all models. You can also see time spent on individual models in their detail view. This helps you understand how much time different projects take.
You build a streak by painting on consecutive days. Complete at least one painting session each day to keep your streak going. Don't worry if you miss a day - there's a grace period that protects your streak briefly.
On any model's detail page, tap the camera icon or "Add Photo" to upload progress shots. Photos are organized chronologically so you can see your model's journey from start to finish.
Yes! basecoat uses real-time sync so your models, sessions, and photos are available on all your devices. Changes sync automatically when you're online, and the app works offline too - it will sync when you reconnect.
Yes! Go to Settings and tap "Export Data" to download all your information including models, sessions, and photos as a JSON file. This is useful for backups or if you want to analyze your painting habits.
Yes, we take data security seriously. Your data is encrypted in transit and stored securely. We implement industry-standard measures to protect your information. See our Privacy Policy for more details.
You can reset your password from the login screen by clicking "Forgot Password" and following the instructions sent to your email.
You can delete your account from Settings. This action is permanent and will remove all your data including models, photos, and sessions. We recommend exporting your data first if you want to keep a backup.
